Programs

offers and information

We cultivate children's individual creativity through visual arts, drama, dance, music, Legos, sports, and more. Our staff create lesson plans and organize activities in order to encourage children to explore, learn, communicate, and thrive. Whether it is learning about Frida Kahlo in Visual Arts, performing on stage in Theatre, or learning about kinetic energy in Science Club, your child will work with their peers in an encouraging environment.

Visual Arts

In Visual Arts, students get to learn about a variety of artists and cultures. Each month we have a featured theme, and we work in different mediums so students have the opportunity to use new materials. The students have a lot of fun learning about new artists and materials, but more importantly, they develop self-confidence and pride in what they can create. There are two art exhibits of the students work throughout the year.

legos

In Lego Club, the children use their imagination and creativity to construct their own builds from airplanes to robots!  With over 20,000 Legos at their disposal, the possibilities and outcomes are endless!  Lego Club also enjoys putting together different sets from popular themes such as Star Wars, Lego Friends, Ninjago, Disney Princess, Super Heroes, and much more!

homework

Homework is one of our busier clubs! With many different resources for the children to use, such as our new computer lab, a library nearby, and experienced staff, we can overcome most homework challenges. Come check it out and let us know if you would like to sign your child up for a daily minimum of 30 minuets for strictly homework.

scrapbooking

Scrapbooking takes place in the fall semester. We take our favorite pictures and create a beautiful book of memories with a personal touch. We provide the materials, and the kids bring in their own pictures. If they have a scrapbook at home they would like to bring in that's great! All scrapbooks welcome!

sewing club

Sewing club takes place in the fall semester. We are learning to hand sew as well as learn the basics on the sewing machine. We make seasonal decorations, keychains, pillows, bags and more!

sports and games

Our Sports Program allows for children to participate in all different kinds of group sports and active games. Sports include soccer, kickball, dodgeball, floor hockey, and also non-traditional games that emphasize team building and strategic development. Athletes are challenged both physically and mentally in order to develop team work skills and good sportsmanship. While the main focus of our Sports Program is to have fun and promote active life styles in our kids, we also challenge our athletes to improve themselves as competitors.

theatre

Every year at Expressions, children get to experience the wonder and magic of theatre through a show. The kids audition and rehearse for the show throughout the school year, which ends with a performance on the first Friday of June! Theatre is an excellent way to bring kids out of their shells, and it gives kids a sense of responsibility and teamwork.

Stage craft and costume design

In these programs, the kids will have the chance to create all of the sets, props, and costumes that will be used in the theatre performance at the end of the year. In costume design, they will learn basic sewing and clothing design skills. In stage craft, they will learn set design and light design. This is a great way for the kids to see their ideas turn into practical elements on the stage!

science club

Science club is the place for all things experimental. In Science club, kids will participate in a variety of activities from making their own slime to building marshmallow launchers.

skiing and snowboarding

Ski Club takes place at Blue Hills Ski Area in Milton, MA during the months of January to early February. The club runs for five weeks. During those weeks, children will be with an instructor in a lesson based environment and other kids in their skill level for an hour and fifteen minutes. Once the lesson is done, we eat dinner in the lodge then return back to Expressions. If you do not have any equipment, Blue Hills also does rentals for your convenience!
